Fort Town Night Run

May 3, 2025 - Leo Boivin Community Center

What an evening! Months of planning and dedication culminated on May 3 at the Fort Town Night Run, held at the Leo Boivin Community Center in Prescott. Our subcommittee, consisting of Lynda Joanisse, Sean Lucey, Amber Kunde, and Amber Vanderzwet, ensured that the event was well-organized, safe, and enjoyable for our participants.

Special thank you to:

Evonik who had 23 staff members involved in running or participating in our vendor fair and provided sponsorship for safety tables.

Lorna Thain-Segú and Marc Gomez Segú, owners of Little Barcelona, participated with their children and provided the 10KM winning prize in collaboration with the St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival.

The Spencerville Fair was part of our vendor fair with their quilt for and raffle tickets to support children's events at the upcoming 170th fair. They also awarded a family day pass to our 1km winner donated to us by the Fair Committee.

Windmill Brewery, The BridgeView, and St. Lawrence Academy organized and managed our canteen and had members participate in our 5K race.

Your Independent Grocer, Prescott, Ontario, Downtown Prescott RiverWalk District, Northern Cables Inc., and Port of Johnstown provided water and snacks for our runners.

The Prescott Department of Public Works donated the use of the Leo Boivin arena and approved the road closure to ensure our start and finish line were free from traffic.

107.9 Moose FM - CKPP came to cheer on the participants.

St John Ambulance ensured safety as part of our Batman level sponsorship from CSE Consulting, Strader Ferris International, and Evonik. Members of CSE also participated in the race.

The 15km winner was thrilled to receive four golf green fees and two cart rentals courtesy of Prescott Golf Club.

Community Futures Grenville ensured we had sufficient funding to keep our runners safe on the route by approving a community grant.

Iron Forge Cardinal, in partnership with the St Lawrence Shakespeare Festival, provided our 5KM winning prize.

Alantra donated portable toilets.

Cronos 900 provided timekeeping and bibs for our runners.

Scott Primeau was our DJ and microphone master.

Air Cadet Squadron 661 and Naval Cadet Squadron 338 volunteered alongside Jeanette Johnston Business & Mindset Coaching, Blinda Campbell, Goldstar Bookkeeping, many community members, and high school students.

Overall, we had 202 runners, 55 volunteers, 18 chamber members, 6 additional businesses, 2 St John Ambulance attendants, and one amazing night.

Thank you for making the 2025 Fort Town Night Run unforgettable.
